ABOUT NATALY LOPEZ-DIAZ

I am an antiracist educator that is passionate about urban education and serving students of color. I strive to always work from the lens of equity and social justice. I have worked in multiple school settings in both in urban and suburban schools, that predominantly serve students of color. I am passionate about working in underserved communities, student equity, culturally responsive teaching and personalized learning. I have worked in Chicago turnaround schools and also led school improvement teams through school improvement and change management. My expertise as an instructional leader is rooted in designing instructional programs and support systems that will shift instructional practices that result in academic achievement for students with a hyper focused lens on equity, access and inclusion. Prior to becoming an educator, I served in the private sector as a data-analyst and bring that experience into to my work as a data-driven practitioner. As a classroom teacher, my students consistently exceeded in both growth and attainment above national norms. I was recognized by Chicago Public Schools as a Master Teacher for superior results in student growth on MAP NWEA test in for 2 consecutive years. I hold an MA in Principal Preparation from Concordia University, an MAT in Elementary Education from National-Louis University and an MBA with a concentration in Management from Robert Morris University. I am an alum of the Academy of Urban School Leadership Teacher Residency Program (AUSL).
