As area manager at Pivot, I have the best of all worlds:I am responsible for overseeing operations at six offices for Pivot Physical Therapy. Of course, there are the usual profit margins to manage and operational issues to tend to, but here are the secrets to keeping my passion alive. Patient CareI am able to do what I love best 80% of my week, which is helping my patients with all their Physical Therapy needs. After more than 20 years in the community, I have developed strong relationships with patients, referral sources and their families. It reminds me why I got into the profession in the first place: TO HELP PEOPLELeadership I view my role today as the facilitator and team builder that internalizes the dreams and goals of the organization and aligns those with the front line efforts of the service/brand in my area. That requires putting the right teams together, keeping multidisciplinary staff focused on the mission, mentoring each employee to utilize their strengths to full potential, coordinating efforts and fostering strong working relationships with our corporate resources in marketing and human resources and inspiring those around me to do great work.
