About Natalie Neumann
I am a first-year student at NYU’s College of Arts and Sciences with a dual emphasis in politics and journalism as well as a minor in Chinese and the Business of Entertainment, Media, and Technology. I’m curious about how media, culture, and storytelling influence the way people think — whether that’s shaping public opinion, building fan communities, or driving political conversations.I’m also passionate about sharing stories. As Co-founder and Editor-in-Chief of my school’s newspaper, I led a 20+ person editorial team, oversaw visual design using Adobe InDesign, and coordinated production. My background in journalism and passion for storytelling have given me a strong foundation for writing, researching, and content strategy, while my politics coursework informs how I think about institutions and public narratives.Outside the classroom, I love listening to music and writing songs, which has helped strengthen my understanding of storytelling and communication. Being born in China and fluent in Mandarin has influenced the way I think about global fan communities, cross-cultural storytelling, and international music markets. Over time, this perspective has allowed me to develop a fan-first mindset, impacting the way I think about audience engagement, marketing campaigns, and artist or brand management. I’m currently seeking opportunities within the media, entertainment, and journalism fields where I can combine my journalism experience, creative thinking, and understanding of fan behavior and engagement.
