About Natalie Simpson
Operations management (OM) is a joy to teach. It represents nothing less than human endeavor itself, and I am fiercely proud of this subject. OM is the original business discipline, clearly evident in archeological records, and we are the foundation upon which other business disciplines evolve and thrive. Our domain literally contains ‘something for everybody’, as it encompasses vast global supply chains, busy hospitals, airports, power plants and traffic networks, and yet is equally influential in entrepreneurial activities and even daily life. To appreciate OM is to understand that successful outcomes are not the sole result of technology or luck, and to learn the tools of OM is to enhance one’s own ability to make positive things happen.
