ABOUT NATALIE LULIA

Tēnā koutou, ke ola kotou tākatoa, Nō Te Arawa, Mataatua me Ngā Kuki Airani ōku tūpuna[My ancestors hail from Te Arawa, Mataatua and the Cook Islands]Ko Whakapoungākau me Pūtauaki ōku maunga[Whakapoungākau and Pūtauaki are my mountains]Ko Waingaehe me Rangitaiki ōku awa[Waingaehe and Rangitaiki are my rivers]Ko Ngāti Whakaue me Ngāti Awa ōku iwi[Ngati Whakaue and Ngati Awa are my tribes]Ko Owhata me Tūteao ōku marae[Owhata and Tūteao are my marae]Ko Natalie Maramena Lulia tōku ingoa[My name is Natalie Maramena Lulia]I am the Regional Director Americas, Europe & Gulf Cooperation Council and Counsellor - Education at Education New Zealand | Manapou ki te Ao. I lead a team who are passionate about International Education, Global Citizenship Education and raising awareness to establish meaningful relationships with Aotearoa New Zealand.I am passionate about equipping future leaders with opportunities and making them accessible. Enabling and normalising connections, networks and experiences that align with tikanga Māori[Maori practice] and necessary for indigenous growth. My work is underpinned by years of experience working with whānau[family], hapū[subtribe], iwi[tribe], and grounded in our korero tuku iho[oral histories and traditions]. Developing rangatahi Māori[Māori youth], pakihi Māori[Māori Businesses] and creating space for emerging leaders to thrive. I disrupt \'how things are done\' and create spaces for innovation and creativity, the crazier the idea, the better. It makes life fun!My why is my daughter Tarah, who inspires me to advocate for others and make a difference. She’s upgraded me from Natalie to MUM. She challenges me to make an impact, not just so she can have a better future, but to share that future with others. This means the standard cup of tea at home which I was raised with isn’t ideal, a hot chocolate at our local café has more appeal. She’s all about supporting local businesses. I’m an old soul at heart and prefer phone calls or in-person meetings. Always happy to have a yarn!
