ABOUT NATALIE JOHNSONIUS NEUBERT

Natalie Johnsonius Neubert is an arts executive experienced in programming, fundraising, and marketing for music, theatre, dance, opera, and multi-disciplinary performance companies. She currently serves as the President and CEO of Berkshire Opera Festival. In the past, she has worked with such institutions as Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, the Dublin International Fringe Festival, Performance Space New York (formerly P.S. 122), Classic Stage Company, Nashville Shakespeare Festival, The Kitchen, the Alliance of Resident Theatres/New York, LUMBERYARD/American Dance Institute, Berkshire Music School, and Shakespeare & Company. She has served on grant-making panels for the National Endowment for the Arts, and on the Boards of Directors for The Mount: Edith Wharton Cultural Center (Lenox, MA), On The Boards Contemporary Performance (Seattle, WA), and The Civilians Theater Company (New York, NY).Natalie also works as a professional director, actress, and sound/media designer. In New York, her work has been seen at such venues as Ensemble Studio Theater, The Ohio Theater, Westbeth: A Home For the Arts, Urban Stages, The Culture Project, Performance Space New York (formerly P.S. 122), Galapagos Art Center, Dixon Place, The Brick Theater, and with companies including Target Margin Theater and This is Not A Theatre Company. With a specific interest in site-specific work, she has also performed and/or had work presented on the New York City subway, at the New York Public Library, and the New York Botanical Gardens. Outside of New York, her work has also been seen and heard at the Bridge Lane Theatre (London, UK), Shakespeare & Company (Lenox, MA), WAM Theatre (Lenox, MA), Belcourt Theatre (Nashville, TN), Chaffin’s Dinner Theatre (Nashville, TN), and at the Miami Light Project as part of the Filmgate Interactive Film Festival. Natalie earned her Bachelor of Arts and Master of Fine Arts degrees from Sarah Lawrence College, and further trained at the British American Dramatic Academy (London, UK), Shakespeare & Company’s Center for Actor Training (Lenox, MA), and Ensemble Studio Theatre in New York. She studied French language at the Alliance Française in Paris, and was awarded the DELF-B1 (intermediate) diploma. Natalie is also a member of the Screen Actors Guild and the Actor’s Equity Association, and invests in commercial theatre productions.
