I founded The Arts Empowerment Project in 2011 to promote the arts as a way to help children impacted by violence use the universal language of both visual and performing arts as a source of self-expression, healing and empowerment.The Arts Empowerment Project is a 501(c)(3) non-profit that is collaborating with the NC District Court as a member of the District Court\'s Arts & Science Collaborative Initiative to help fund programs for children and youth mandated by the court to attend art programs and after school youth development programs in the Charlotte area.Funded by individuals and corporations, and through partnerships with community arts organizations, we are engaged in a collaborative effort to connect at-risk children impacted by violence to existing arts programs and enhance the lives of children in our community.
