ABOUT NATALIE CHARALAMBOUS
I am a recent summa cum laude graduate of Fordham University, where I earned a Bachelor of Arts in International Studies with a concentration in Global Affairs, alongside minors in Peace & Justice Studies and Environmental Studies. I was honored to receive departmental honors in International Studies, and to be inducted into Sigma Iota Rho and Phi Beta Kappa, reflecting my deep commitment to academic excellence. I am an aspiring International Lawyer with a passion for international affairs, conflict resolution, and humanitarian work. My academic and professional interests lie at the intersection of law, diplomacy, and peacebuilding, particularly in regions affected by “frozen” conflicts. My senior thesis focused on the Cyprus Problem — a deeply personal and scholarly interest — examining the limitations and challenges of long-term peacekeeping and the consequences of the island’s unresolved status. My thesis also explored the difficulty of creating a comprehensive, lasting peace agreement 50 years later in one of the longest UN peacekeeping missions in history, and one of the oldest and most symbolic cases of a frozen conflict. I’m eager to pursue opportunities that will allow me to engage with international legal frameworks, diplomacy, and peacebuilding efforts as I prepare for law school and eventually, a legal career in international law.
