ABOUT NATALIA BOWE

I have graduated with a first class honours in psychology and criminology, which provoked a significant interest in both clinical and forensic psychology. More specifically, my dissertation focused upon whether impulsivity is a defining feature of psychopathic traits. To further my interest in the area of psychology, I have completed a postgraduate masters in clinical psychology and mental health, whereby I attained a distinction. My dissertation explored the influence of psychopathic traits on the form and function of aggression manifested by males, through using the Triarchic Psychopathy Measure and creating a new aggression measure entitled, the Motivation for Violence Questionnaire. I undertook various modules to strengthen my ability to create formulations for affective disorders and treatment plans and understanding the neuropsychology underpinning cognitive impairments such as dementia.Presently, I am fulfilling a role as a social work assistant in the Home First Team located across the Royal Gwent Hospital and The Grange University Hospital. I work within the regional team, which covers the five local authorities (Newport, Torfaen, Monmouth, Caerphilly and Blaenau Gwent). I am adaptable and able to work in a multidisciplinary team, which consists of working with health staff. My role includes being on duty, taking referrals, working in the front line for efficient and timely discharges in MAU & ED and covering the wards to promote well-being and independence through the implementation of preventative services.I am highly passionate about developing my knowledge and passion within the social work career.
