About Natacha Poggio
Natacha Poggio is a design educator, Fulbright Scholar, TEDx speaker, Climate Reality Leader, and passionate advocate of design for social and environmental change. She is an Associate Professor of Design at the University of Houston-Downtown. Prior to that position, she taught at Lamar University and the Hartford Art School, University of Hartford, in the United States, and at the Universidad de Buenos Aires, in Argentina.Natacha frequently lectures at national and international conferences on the value of design in addressing global challenges, specifically the role science communication can lead to positive behavioral outcomes. A three-time recipient of a Sappi \"Ideas that Matter\" award, Natacha develops planet-centered solutions to address health, environmental, and social justice issues. Through partnerships with global health, wellness, and education organizations, Natacha\'s work fosters transdisciplinary collaborations bringing positive change to communities in Latin America, Africa, and Asia. In 2008, Natacha founded Design Global Change [DGC]—a collaborative of passionate creatives contributing solutions to the challenges facing society.Having served as a board member, consultant and volunteer to many nonprofit organizations, Natacha understands the complexities of mobilizing resources for projects involving community development, arts & sciences, and social justice. She can harness the energy that flourishes at the intersection of these elements, and help these organizations strategically advance ideas—moving them from vision to reality.
