Monad Engineering Ltd is a company that I run, through which I do all of my consulting / contracting work. I tend to work on a remote contract basis with UK/EU clients. Part of Equal Experts network.With addition to larger clients/engagements, below I list several additional notable projects/ventures- In 2023 I launched a micro-SaaS product called Camdeed / Tuokis It\'s an app used to share media during in-person events (weddings and expos). Currently generates a modest 4-figure MRR- In 2020 delivered a web-based asset management solution for a multinational medical technology company to manage, locate and calibrate on-site medical devices. Over five years since delivering it, the solution is still in active use by the client- In 2019 consulted a UK-based subscription-product startup by re-writing their React Native (React, Redux, Hooks) mobile application used by active users to manage their monthly subscriptions- In 2017 I completed a delivery-based contract that involved creating a data acquisition toolkit/API in LabVIEW and C#(.NET) for precision data acquisition devices. Successfully commissioned the project to a group of aerospace clients in Long Beach, CA. The drivers are now sold as a standalone software product and even though it\'s quite a niche product, I usually make 2-3 sales a year.

I help established enterprises and mature (Series B+) scale-ups retain a healthy pace of delivery velocity. I consult on ways of working, architecture and practices like TDD, CI/CD/MLOps, trunk-based development, XP and as of more recent GenAI-assisted engineering practises. Regardless of the challenge or paradigm, you will often hear me evangelise simplification, short feedback loops, modelling problems from first principles and balancing technical decisions against business constraints. Organisations will typically parachute me in to help with technical leadership and architecture challenges. When situations require I am hands-on and fluent in a wide array of technologies including Golang, TypeScript, Next.js, Terraform, AWS, GCP, Node, Python, SQL & NoSQL, Kafka, event-based systems. Intimately familiar with AI-augmented working practises as well as their tradeoffs. Typically at Staff/Principal or VP level, adapting to each organisation\'s specific needs.A father.
