ABOUT NARIN WONGNGAMNIT

I am an experienced physician executive and entrepreneur with expertise in the public, non-profit, and private sectors. My clinical experience spans 15+ years and has focused on general psychiatry and addiction psychiatry (ABPN Board-Certified in both). The vast majority of my career has been in hospital/clinical leadership positions including being a medical director/senior leader at the Department of Veterans Affairs, at a safety-net non-profit provider of community mental health, and at a private-equity-owned and fast-growing private healthcare company. I also co-founded and ran a transcranial magnetic stimulation clinic aimed at the treatment of otherwise treatment-resistant depression among other disorders. Outside of clinical medicine, I am active in other forms of business and community leadership. I am on the Board of Directors of Chemex, a Thai manufacturer of industrial adhesives and previously sat on the Board of Directors of The Conflict Center in Denver, Colorado. For the past five years, I have been on the Executive Council of the Colorado Psychiatric Society serving in the capacities of Treasurer, Secretary, President-Elect, and President, and PAC Chair. Excellence in administrative, clinical, academic work while a faculty member of the University of Colorado School of Medicine, and my volunteer and community experiences has led to the honor of being named a Distinguished Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association, the highest honor bestowed by the American Psychiatric Association. I graduated with University Honors from Carnegie Mellon University in 2001 and from the Indiana University School of Medicine in 2006. My general psychiatry and addiction psychiatry training was at the University of Colorado. Consistent with my belief in the importance of life-long learning, I returned to School 20 years after earning my bachelor’s degree and graduated in 2021 with a MBA from Brown University and IE Business School (IE Brown Executive MBA). Outside of medicine, I am an active teacher and student of martial arts. I am a Kukkiwon-certified Master Instructor in Taekwondo.
