About Naresh Panneerselvam

A passionate plant biologist turned startup innovation and entrepreneural enthusiast. My journey has taken me across academia, research institutions, and industry, allowing me to gain multidisciplinary expertise in biotechnology, molecular biology, quality assurance, and entrepreneurship connect. With over six years of experience in plant research, I have worked at prestigious international institutions such as the International Rice Research Institute (IRRI) in the Philippines, the University of Québec at Trois-Rivières (Canada), and the Biological Research Centre (Hungary). My research has focused on plant stress physiology, molecular genetics, proteomics, and crop improvement, where I explored heat stress tolerance in rice, protein carbonylation in plants, and genetic marker-assisted breeding. My career path has now led me to entrepreneurship and innovation management. As an Incubation Associate at ICT-NICE Venture Incubator and Foundation, I actively support startups, mentor young entrepreneurs, and help shape the startup ecosystem by connecting founders with the right resources, mentors, and investors. My role involves event coordination, database management, and fostering collaborations, ensuring that early-stage startups receive the guidance they need to succeed.
