n••••••••@gmail.com Empathy, the key to understanding other humans and what they need to accomplish their goals. What is User Experience? A person\'s perceptions and responses that result from the use or anticipated use of a product, system or service. What is Usability? Usability employs methods to measure the ability to complete tasks as well as to assess aspects of user experience. Taken together Aspects of user experience like information architecture and user interface can help or hinder a user\'s experience – Research is done to enhance task completion while improving the user’s experience. My extensive experience with understanding the needs of end users has long provided designers and developers with the right information about the business needs the software must provide. It has been my role as a research analyst to support my team and ensure the team is successful. To do this I receive Epics from product management (PRDs, FRDs), immerse myself in the world of the targeted end users (becoming the subject matter expert), then generate the user stories which define the business needs of those users. Stories always contain success criteria for QA to test. I break up the user stories into business use cases. I do not design UI; the information and interaction designers determine the presentation. Of course, iterative design cycles, with end user feedback, help hone these designs to ensure the users can accomplish their goals. I conduct heuristic evaluations and end user walk-throughs with targeted end users to get this feedback for the designers and the development team. I was a pioneer in remote usability studies, beginning with my thesis in \'97 and in practice at each company where I have worked. I have extensive experience with enterprise business software, role-based dashboards, sourcing, analysis, score-carding, performance management, buying, contract management, and supply side needs.
