As head of the press desk, I manage the day to day hustle of curating and leveraging content that embodies MSF\'s core values, builds global solidarity and keeps underreported stories top of mind for Canadians. Seeking out compelling stories, spokespeople, journalists, artists, filmmakers, and social media engagement moments, I connect the dots to bring people and opportunities together to tell stories that inform, engage and shine light on humanitarian emergencies, neglected crises and innovative solutions. An experienced crisis communicator, I thrive in a fast paced environment to deliver strategic communications counsel to executive leaders and spokespeople across the organization. I lead a small high impact team to identify and leverage communications opportunities that move the needle on our advocacy priorities and amplify public engagement. I lead the organization\'s thought leadership strategy through news features, opinion pieces, podcasts, speeches and strategic partnerships.I help leaders craft stories that influence policy, shift public narratives, drive outcomes, and unlock critical funding.I have sourced and leveraged powerful first-person testimonies that became hallmarks of MSF’s emergency communications which generated viral attention on social media and hundreds of top-tier media hits globally. Passionate about ARTvocacy, I conceptualized and led new approaches to arts-informed campaigns at MSF and cultivated new partnerships with sociocultural institutions that significantly expanded our brand awareness in Canada.
