ABOUT NAOMI D.

I\'m interested in people and what makes them tick. I like working with companies that are ethical, have a purpose and make a positive difference in the World. I have recently moved to Bristol having worked for the past seven years for two, clever and inspiring companies run by entrepreneurs, David and Clare Hieatt; The Do Lectures and Hiut Denim. Initially I shared my time between both companies but ran the Do Lectures full time from Summer 2016. My role in both was extremely diverse, at the Do Lectures I managed the community and organised the four-day annual event, voted by the Guardian as one of the top 10 ideas festivals in the world. I was also speaker researcher, event curator and content developer and helped with the logistics and organisation of the events. My work at Hiut Denim has been equally diverse. When I started in 2012, the small denim company had just newly formed but it had a big mission and has recently been described as an iconic cult brand. In addition to looking after the customers and keeping them happy (which was a priority!) I was also responsible for production planning, sales enquires, making sure the operations ran smoothly, PR and other creative project work. A combination of drive and enthusiasm ensures I get things done. I’m optimistic and working for such energetic and inspiring companies has reinforced my belief that we can make a real difference in this world. I believe my main attribute, which to me is the most important one of all, is that I care about what I do and doing it well. In fact, I care a lot.
