Who We Support: Caregivers and parents of children living with chronic and complex health conditionsWhat We Believe: Peer professionals play a critical role in offering support, education, and empowerment of caregivers and providers. Short, intermediate, and long-term outcomes for children and youth living with chronic illness is linked to the resourcing of their caregivers - and yet there is a paucity of support and information to support caregivers and parents in advocating for children with disabilities and special health needs.Strategies to Empower and Educate:Kids and Caregivers provides support through advocacy, education, mentoring, toolkits, and peer-based and professional support activities online and in partnership with local medical centers.What We Know:Well resourced caregivers can and do make a difference in improving health outcomes and wellness in children and youth no matter what their diagnosis or prognosis. Vision:Empowering Caregivers - through online tools, support, advocacy, mutual aid, and resources for caregivers; workshops/classes for caregivers and families in partnerships with local providers to model ecologies of care.
