ABOUT NANCY GARCIA CASTILLO
I am a graduate of the Master of Education in Education Policy and Analysis program at Harvard Graduate School of Education, where I focused on strengthening teacher preparation and advancing equitable access to high-quality mathematics education.Most recently, I worked on the Mathematical Quality of Instruction (MQI) coaching team at Harvard’s Center for Education Policy Research, supporting coaches in refining tools, guiding questions, and feedback strategies to help teachers deepen student learning.Before that, I taught high school mathematics for 14 years in Evergreen Public Schools, where I designed culturally responsive lessons and led professional development centered on equity and inclusion.I am now returning to the classroom, where I am excited to bring together my policy training, research experience, and deep commitment to equity to create meaningful and rigorous learning opportunities for students.
