ABOUT NANCY VELAZCO
Licensed HUD Certified Housing Counselor and former college Education Instructor, Nancy Velazco brings 30-plus years of experience of proven results working within the private and non-profit sectors. She has worked in the housing counseling and financial education space since 2008 and has extensive experience as a senior level manager, overseeing the program development, financing and implementation of successful housing counseling and financial education programs with an objective of promoting financial security and affordable housing opportunities to low- to moderate-income working families. Nancy is a former faculty at Gateway Community College, where she taught personal financial management courses through Gateway’s Community Education Program in the areas of credit, money and debt management, and a pathway to home ownership. She has a strong passion for working with first-time homebuyers and continues to do so, specializing in down payment assistance and government bond programs. She has built trusting relationships and facilitated creative learning programs that deliver results. Nancy is a graduate of ASU’s College of Extended Education’s Hispanic Leadership Institute Program and holds certifications in financial capabilities and homeownership education delivery methods, and attends ongoing educational programs and conferences to strengthen her skills and keep abreast of current industry best practice and industry research across the country. She is strongly committed to empowering the community through hard work and dedication.
