Nancy Sung Shelton, M.A. has a varied professional and personal experience that equips and qualifies her to listen and contribute with discerning, compassionate and objective ears. Having dealt with her own personal difficulties and triumphs that included being a: teen mom, high school drop-out, welfare recipient, domestic violence survivor, parent of special needs children, death of a child, unemployment, under-insured, victim of crime. to obtaining a G.E.D. then Master degree, getting off public assistance, becoming gainfully employed, possessing 20+ years of professional and leadership experience in human services, many years serving as a community activist/advocate in several volunteer roles, and just functioning as a resource to those in need. Ms. Shelton is very comfortable in diverse situations from chatting to conversing, from the streets to the office, from the living rooms to the church halls, she speaks and is articulate in the language of youth, parents, and elders, cultural linguistics, research and policy, and overall community vernacular.
