About Nancy Schlichting
I have over 50 years of healthcare experience, starting as a volunteer at Akron City Hospital in high school. I worked at the frontline as a nurse aide after college to gain clinical experience, and became a COO of a 650 bed hospital at the age of 28. I served as a COO and CEO fro 34 years at major health systems, including Summa Health, Ohio Health, Catholic Health Initiatives and Henry Ford Health. I have served on over 85 boards, including 6 public companies; 2 private companies; national, state, and local healthcare associations; nonprofit associations; and 3 universities. I was inducted into the Modern Healthcare Hall of Fame in 2022. My passions in healthcare are people, quality and safety, diversity equity and inclusion, and community.
