About Nancy Major
Nancy M Major is a wife and mother who has been a musculoskeletal radiologist for over 20 years having spent nearly all in an academic position. The past few years she has been working for orthopedic surgeons and doing consulting. Her first 13 years of were as a faculty member at Duke University where she was tenured, and had an appointment to Orthopedic surgery. She also took on the responsible for medical student radiology education, teaching anatomy as well as mentoring research projects. Nancy also taught an undergraduate class to Duke University upper class men through the Department of Evolutionary Anthropology where she also had an appointment. She has been recognized by her teaching in the medical school on multiple occasions, as well as the undergraduate school. After 13 years at Duke, she took the chief of musculoskeletal radiology at The Hospital for the University of Pennsylvania. From there she was asked to do more consulting and she worked hand in hand with an orthopedic subspecialty group in Allentown, PA, and consulted as an MSK specialist at Main Line Diagnostic Imaging, Bryn Mawr, PA. Currently, she has an appointment to CU SOM in Colorado, and spends professional time working as a medicolegal consultant. Nancy spends time assisting students from all over the country who have career interests in medicine by helping with the application process for medical school, reviewing personal statements, creating preparatory calendars and advising. Counseling students is a large part of her interest and student desires. During her non-working hours she spends quality time with her husband, and enjoys writing, tennis, golf, and platform tennis.
