I’m a solution oriented and innovative Legal Counsel and Chartered Secretary with over a decade of experience spanning data privacy, technology law, corporate governance, and financial services. My career has been built at the intersection of law, technology, and business helping organizations navigate regulatory complexity while enabling innovation and growth.In my current role as Data Privacy Manager at Definity Financial Corporation, I lead enterprise-wide privacy programs, embedding privacy-by-design principles into product development and corporate governance. I partner with cross-functional teams Product, Engineering, Security, and Compliance to manage risk, implement global privacy frameworks, and drive trust-based data practices across the organization.Previously, I served as Legal Counsel, Company Secretary, and Privacy Officer at OPay, a China-led fintech group operating across Africa, where I supported multi-jurisdictional licensing, product compliance, and SaaS negotiations. Earlier, as Head Legal and Company Secretary at Planet Capital Group, I advised on governance, capital markets, and restructuring initiatives achieving a 163% growth in transaction value, 27% increase in gross margin, and 20% boost in productivity, while leading legal strategy that secured multiple financial and payment licenses.I’ve advised on transactions exceeding $1 million, structured capital raising and equity deals, and led successful capital restructuring and share reconstruction for a publicly listed insurance company.Dual-qualified to practice law in Ontario and Nigeria, and certified as a CIPP/Canada privacy professional, I bring a global, forward-looking perspective to technology, data, and governance.
