Under Ellis Design, I have worked extensively with custom home builders, acting as sole designer for Jim Johnson Homes and David Bush Homes from 19••••05. I met with each of their clients to select all interior and exterior finishes for their homes, and often acted as a liaison between the builder and the homeowner. I designed and selected finishes for each builder\'s model homes and spec homes. I also created design showrooms in each model home, and worked with vendors to keep our spaces up to date. During my tenure with Jim Johnson Homes, several of our homes were selected for Best of Show during a National Home Builders Tour in the metroplex. I also work with many individual clients on remodels, new homes, space planning, and just simple re-styling of their homes. In addition to my residential clients, I also have various commercial clients - from a small attorney\'s office to several churches.

ABOUT NANCY ELLIS
As a child growing up on the island of Barbados, my sisters and I explored palm forests, magical beaches, and lazy neighborhoods around our home. Nature inspired me. But when I came inside, I was drawing floor plans of imaginary homes, and rearranging furniture in my room. I knew from early on that I had a talent and passion for interior design. For the last 24 years, I’ve explored the world of interior design in both my own home, and those of others. I love what I do. I help people simplify their lives and bring peace and beauty to their living spaces. My first job out of design school was heading up the design department for a high-end remodeling firm. After 3 years I started my own business, and designed the interiors of more than 100 luxury homes for a major Dallas home builder. This was my focus for 10 years. Since then, I’ve continued my independent design business, but have also struck into new territory which has brought me knowledge and experience on the “other” side of interior design. I have been a designer and sales associate at Patina, a Berkshire Hathaway company, that specializes in tile, stone and flooring. I reached # 1 in Sales for 3 Patina stores when I left the company in 2012 to take the position of Lead Designer for Restoration Hardware. I was excited to be part of a new program for RH, in which designers were elevated to key leadership positions on the sales team. I quickly became a producer, leading all sales for our store. In 2014, I joined the design team at Bella Vita Custom Homes, working on luxury homes and remodels in the Dallas/Ft. Worth metroplex. Bella Vita closed it\'s doors in the fall of 2016, so I now am working on my own for private clients as Ellis Design again.
