Currently responsible for producing and underwriting new and renewal business for Construction Services in Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Supervise and lead a staff of Account Executives and one Account Manager to ensure that accounts are underwritten according to Best Practices and Underwriting Principles. Manage all agent and broker relationships in the territory. Collaborate with RVP and HO VP in development of underwriting budgets, marketing and sales strategies. Assist other offices with surety underwriting in Central and Latin America. Work closely with other business units for cross sell opportunities within the territory. Currently serve as Resident Manager of the Fort Lauderdale office. From 1997 to 2003, through various mergers, held several positions in Bond from Senior Underwriter to Underwriting Manager. During that time, underwriting and marketing responsibilities also included agents and construction accounts in South Florida, including Broward, Miami Dade and Monroe counties.
