ABOUT NANCY CANTALUPO

Nancy Chi Cantalupo is a law professor and nationally-recognized expert and scholar on gender-based violence in education. Her scholarship draws from her over 25 years of anti-campus sexual violence work as a researcher, campus administrator, victims’ advocate, attorney, and policymaker and focuses on the use of law to combat discriminatory violence, particularly gender-based violence. Her articles have appeared in WAKE FOREST LAW REVIEW, HARVARD JOURNAL OF LAW AND GENDER, YALE LAW JOURNAL FORUM, MARYLAND LAW REVIEW, UTAH LAW REVIEW, and the peer-reviewed social science journal TRAUMA, VIOLENCE & ABUSE. She also has been invited to write op-eds for the Washington Post, New York Times, USA Today, and Time magazine. Her pro bono work includes: consulting with the Obama-Biden administration’s White House Task Force to Protect Students from Sexual Assault; co-authoring “Title IX & the Preponderance of the Evidence: A White Paper” and the American Bar Association’s Recommendations for Improving Campus Student Conduct Processes; participating in a U.S. Senate roundtable; testifying before state legislatures; and serving on the 2013 VAWA Negotiated Rulemaking Committee and the Conference of Asian Pacific American Law Faculty.
