ABOUT NANCY ARTIOLI
I am currently an Associate Professor in Chemical Engineering at the University of Brescia. Prior to this role, I have been a lecturer in Chemical Engineering at Queen’s University Belfast since 2015. Over the past five years, I have established a research group focused on heterogeneous catalysis, primarily targeting environmental protection, sustainable energy, and carbon-neutral technologies. My research involves extensive collaboration with industrial partners in the clean energy sector. I specialize in the investigation of catalytic reactions using a variety of advanced techniques, including kinetic reactivity studies, transient reactivity techniques, isotopic labeling, mass spectroscopy, HRGC, and spectroscopic analysis under operando conditions. At present, my main research project is focused on designing and developing catalysts for environmental protection and energy conversion applications. Specifically, we investigate NOx storage/reduction and particulate combustion at low temperatures using ceria-based catalysts. I have also pioneered novel preparation methods to create highly active and dispersed Co-based catalysts for Fischer-Tropsch synthesis, as well as iron-based catalysts for CO2 hydrogenation to light hydrocarbons.
