ABOUT NAN JIA
Nan has over 18 years experience in electrical and electronic engineering with a focus on the renewable energy industry since 2013. Nan has substantial experience in grid-scale renewable generation, grid-scale and behind-the-meter energy storage as well as the development of community energy storage concepts. As co-founder and Engineering Director at Penso Power since 2017, he is responsible for system design verification, overseeing project development and deployment, flexibility improvements and operational optimisation. Nan started his journey in the renewable sector in 2013, when he established JWEPanda, a company that focus on BTM storage projects in the UK.Prior to entering the energy industry, Nan was a system manager and principal control engineer in the automotive industry. He worked for Jaguar Land Rover, JCB and Delphi over a period of 10 years, leading on engine control and auto-coding technology developments. Nan holds a Ph.D in Electrical Electronic Engineering from the University of Liverpool, and a bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering from Harbin Institute of Technology.
