About Naman Shah

I am an engineer and socially minded entrepreneur. With my brother Alap, I co-founded and ran R&D for Sentieo, an award winning financial data platform and decision engine for hedge funds, mutual funds and active individual investors. I led operations and development for Sentieo in Delhi and New York, managing a team of 200+ engineers, product managers, designers data scientists and financial analysts. I began my entrepreneurial career in rural India, attempting to solve the largest health issue facing many third world countries - contaminated drinking water. I co-founded Sarvajal, a social enterprise that provides filtered drinking water to India\'s underserved. I helped develop breakthroughs in low cost reverse osmosis filtration technology, ATM water delivery networks and cloud technology to remotely manage a large distribution network. I grew the company to 35 employees and 100k customers and to date we have served over 200 million gallons of clean drinking water. After Sarvajal I received an MBA from Harvard Business School, where I focused on the intersection between technology and entrepreneurship. After graduation I returned to India to recruit and manage a team of India\'s most talented engineers for Sentieo. I continue to lead our India office and am currently actively recruiting for our New York office.

Our mission is to influence the flow of capital into companies that improve society & push culture forward. As public market investors, we’ve posted top decile returns using our data-driven approach. Prior to Studio we founded Sentieo, an AI driven Bloomberg terminal replacement, as a way to leverage alternative data to gain alpha in the public markets. Sentieo is now used by the world’s top investment funds. As venture investors, we finance value-aligned startups across stages and sectors, leveraging our experience as entrepreneurs. Companies we’ve co-founded have collectively raised over $60m in venture capital and have scaled to over 800 employees. We marry this experience as entrepreneurs with our data driven approach as investors to identify startups advancing societal health, productivity and well-being.
