About Nadia Almasalkhi
I am a PhD candidate in sociology at UC Berkeley, an NSF Graduate Research Fellow, an adjunct researcher at the RAND Corporation, and an incoming Consultant at BCG.My research interests lie at the intersection of politics, democratization, and migrations from the Middle East. My past research studied the Syrian diaspora in the U.S. and their outlooks on politics based on their prior experiences under authoritarianism, and my current project studies Lebanese diaspora voting across 3 countries. I am passionate about applied and policy-oriented research, and communicating research to non-academic audiences. After graduating with my PhD in 2026, I will be joining BCG as a Consultant in their Washington, DC office.
