About Nalin J.
I am a senior at LLU School of Allied Health Professionals, currently looking for management opportunities in the Health Information industry. As an HIM student, I have been always fascinated by how things have been evolving from paper medical records to functional Electronic Medical Records. HIM industry is rapidly changing with technological advancements and our knowledge and experience should be used to optimize the safety and privacy of our patients, while preventing fraud and abuse. Even though we are not fully converted to the EHRs yet, It will be the future of our healthcare industry which will be supporting TPO( Treatments, Payments, Operations) through interoperability. ICD-10-CM conversion in 2015, Computer-assisted Coding (CAC), use of speech recognition technology for provider documentation, and use o AI ( artificial intelligence) for abstracting.What will be the next big thing? As such, I have taken many HIM courses and currently doing my internship in an HIM consulting firm while working as a full-time hospital medical coder. I am hoping to use my knowledge and experience today to provide a better healthcare system tomorrow.
