Both told you what had already happened, then asked you to commit the buy on it. Those methods don't touch the fundamental problem. Retailers still commit to inventory before they know what consumers will want, and the gap between what gets made and what gets bought costs the industry $1.73 trillion a year — 6.5% of global retail sales lost to overstocks and out-of-stocks. The biggest cost in retail is not the inventory. It is the distance between what gets made and what people actually wanted. We saw a need for a different kind of technology, and we knew it would take a different kind of company to build it. That is why we formed Stylumia.
