ABOUT NAJELY ALVAREZ
I am an undergraduate student majoring in Public Health at Rutgers University with a focus on the study of the health of marginalized and vulnerable populations and individuals. I am passionate about studying the health concerns that are devastating communities that have long been left in the shadows as well as finding solutions and programs that can be applied to address these concerns. Being a Hispanic woman, forming myself to become an asset for communities that are mine or are similar to my identity is important to me. My work experience in the medical field has allowed me to adapt various important skills and characteristics that are key in the workforce. Working in high-volume departments provided me with the ability to work well under pressure, handle multi-tasking effectively, and develop listening skills, while simultaneously ensuring that all of my patients are receiving the best care and attention. I am currently seeking an internship in the Public Health field and am open to the various branches of the field to allow myself to continue expanding my knowledge and education. My experience gained through the workforce and educational path helps make me a valuable asset to any team or company. I am excited to continue making connections and wish everyone the best!
