Data Infrastructure - Led the design and implementation of a big data access platform to support the firm-wide business intelligence analyses using Apache Hive, Argo Workflows, Spark, Delta Lake, Presto, CockroachDB and Cassandra/Scylla- Led the design and implementation of the programming data access layer used by the whole firm to access the new data infrastructure via RESTful API and gRPC/protobuf interfaces- Led the design and implementation of tools to generate reports to benchmark performance (e.g, throughput and latency) to guid our design design decisions- Designed and implemented microservice-based distributed data infrastructure to handle big data (10T+ new data daily) with low end-to-end access latency (~20ms) and high scalability via Kubernetes on AWS- Automated the team’s development and deployment process (CI/CD) using Jenkins and Argo CD. Tech Stack: Scala, gRPC, protobuf, Docker, Kubernetes, Avro, Kafka, Hive, Spark, Delta Lake, Presto, CockroachDB, Cassandra/Scylla, S3, Parquet, ElasticSearch Compliance Team - Led the design and implementation of an in-house surveillance system to detect various potential market manipulations and saved $120K+ yearly subscription fees.
