About Nahom Dagnachew
With a name most people find difficult to pronounce, I too want to face similar challenges in the real world by utilizing my education. I graduated from Rice University with a BS in Mechanical Engineering which has prepared me for the professional field with its rigorous course work. Also, I have evolved through internship experiences to make it in the engineering department. I have gone through the Engineering Design process multiple times in internships and coursework, picking up skills like teamwork, CAD drawing, and Matlab coding. Through my time at Rice, I also have taken multiple Computer Science courses to develop into the Software Engineering Field. Specifically, I have experience creating successful and widely implemented Python/VBA tools at GE Power as an intern, created Python programs for a professor\'s research lab, and am working on a free food-finding web application in my free time. Holding myself accountable, I have no problem with self-learning and enjoy it, making my potential for success limitless. Along with my communication skills and extensive experience working in teams, I would be an excellent asset to any team.
