   Led architecture and delivery of multiple core AWS MSK offerings powering thousands of production-scale Kafka workloads.Tech lead for MSK Serverless – AWS’s first multi-tenant, auto-scaling Kafka service – with custom kafka dataplane components, elastic storage backend, and metadata propagation layers. Took service from concept to GA, now serving thousands of Kafka clusters. I designed the custom dataplane front end and storage and built core parts of these components.Tech lead for Tiered Storage support in MSK using custom aws storage plugins aligned with KIP-405, enabling unlimited retention and storage elasticity. Drove plugin architecture, integration into Kafka 2.8 fork, and production rollout. Wrote most of the critical pieces of the archive, fetch, prefetch, caching layers of core storage and metadata plugin code.Co-led building MSK Express, a proprietary Kafka variant offering 3x higher throughput per broker, 20x faster scaling, 90% faster recovery. Designed and implemented critical components of the express storage.Established durability, availability, and resiliency standards; implemented data plane threat modeling and quality assessment and rigorous operarional readiness processes.Currently own technical strategy across MSK dataplane teams of standard and express brokers, serverless, broker heat management teams.
