ABOUT ATULYA NAGAR DPHIL
I hold the Foundation Chair as Professor of Mathematical Sciences at Liverpool Hope University where I am Pro-Vice-Chancellor for Research & the Dean of Faculty of Science. I have been the Head of the School of Mathematics, Computer Science and Engineering at Liverpool Hope since January 2008. A mathematician by training, I possess multi-disciplinary expertise in Nonlinear Mathematics, Natural Computing, Bio-Mathematics and Computational Biology, Operations Research, and Control Systems Engineering. I have an extensive background and experience of working in Universities in the UK and India. I have been an expert reviewer for the Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council (BBSRC) grants peer-review committees for Bioinformatics Panel; Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC) for High Performance Computing Panel; and serve on the Peer-Review College of the Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC) as a scientific expert member. I have edited volumes on Intelligent Systems, and Applied Mathematics; I am the Editor-in-Chief of the International Journal of Artificial Intelligence and Soft Computing (IJAISC) and serve on editorial boards for a number of prestigious journals such as the Journal of Universal Computer Science (JUCS). I am well published with over 200 publications in prestigious publishing outlets and international journals. I was awarded a prestigious Commonwealth Fellowship for pursuing my Doctorate (DPhil) in Applied Non-Linear Mathematics, which I earned from the University of York in 1996. I hold BSc (Hons.), MSc, and MPhil (with Distinction) from the MDS University of Ajmer, India. Prior to joining Liverpool Hope, I was with the Department of Mathematical Sciences, and later at the Department of Systems Engineering, at Brunel University, London. Earlier I lectured at the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research (TIFR, Applied Mathematics, Bangalore), BITS Pilani and the Indian Institute of Technology (IITs) in India.
