About Nafia Zuhana

Books have been an integral part of my life ever since I was a kid. My reading spectrum ranges from children’s books like Enid Blyton’s Wishing Chair Stories to Michelle Obama’s Becoming. Growing up, my fascination towards diverse writing styles and different forms of storytelling by multiple authors propelled me to do my Master’s Degree in Creative Writing at Oxford Brookes University. During my tenure as Head of Content at IELTSMaterial.com, I have worked in Microsoft Tools and CMS like WordPress. Building the IELTSMaterial.com website from scratch is an accomplishment that I would wear as a badge of honour. When we had acquired the website in Jan 2020, the website had about 10 pages with poor quality content. I had then analysed competitors and made sure we curated and created content for our website to be the one-stop solution to everything IELTS. With the help of a strong SEO team, we understood and implemented various SEO techniques such as keyword optimization, using external links for authenticity, writing our meta description, using original images, and introducing various new strategies to rank better on Google. This led to the increase in the website traffic to 1.2 million, a 64% increase in organic traffic.Currently, with three years of collective experiences as a content writer and as Head of Content, I have proofread and edited 100+ articles and 7 eBooks that sum up to around pages and thereby providing me valuable experience and expertise in this field. In addition to this, I have planned 15 hours of self-paced materials (scripts and videos) for IELTS and OET combined.I have also published an anthology of poems titled “Musings of Zuhana”, which consists of 20 poems varying among themes such as memories of life, aftermath of death, unexpected friendship. Throughout this publishing journey, the most fun I had was working hand in hand with my editor. Trying to respect the existing boundaries of literature while simultaneously leaping beyond for the sake of poetry, was quite adventurous through the lens of an editor. My writings have also diversified as I’ve took up a couple of freelancing projects on Travel Writing, Advertising, and have been in the search for more. Given an opportunity, I do know that I would be able to present various articles on different topics. Outside of work, I am a people person and hence love conversations. I always carry a book in my bag, and am always up for tea (no coffee please!)
