ABOUT NAFEEZA KADIR

Class of 2012, Bachelor of Commerce in International Business at Humber College ITAL. While completing my degree, I worked as a Lead Ambassador in Student Recruitment from 20••••12. Within this timeframe I also worked for the Humber Student Federation (HSF) as their Chairperson on the Board of Directors. I was featured in two Humber articles, both focusing on student success.During my time at Humber, both as a student and work study, I connected with various people throughout the institution. My ability to act as a leader, motivate and encourage others, and represent the diverse population within the institution helping to create a personal brand. Staying connected eventually led to my first post-graduation position as an Enrolment Advisor at Humber College ITAL.In this position I gave back to current and future students enrolled at Humber. Not only was I supporting their academic achievements but also encouraging the importance of student involvement within their school community. In 2012, I made the move over to the University of Guelph Humber where I worked as the Student Life, Career and Alumni Office Coordinator until March 2016. In this role, I interacted with the staff and student population on a daily basis. Also, playing an active role in navigating GHworks, the career and placement on-line portal, first point of contact with potential employers, as well as being responsible for filtering through new job opportunities for students.Fast forward 2016, I continue to contribute to student success and development working with Peer Assisted Learning Support. My objective is to equip students with skills essential to their success beyond the walls of college and university. I am passionate about student success and learning. My advice to anyone, especially students would be to get involved, stay connected, and use the resources available (on-campus or off-campus) to make the most of their life and academic experience.
