ABOUT NADIRA GUNASEKARA
Postdoctoral researcher in Molecular and Cellular Sports Medicine at the German Sport University Cologne, specializing in exercise oncology. My research bridges basic science and clinical trials to explore how physical activity influences cancer biology and patient outcomes.I contributed to the international PREFERABLE-EFFECT trial, which investigated the benefits of supervised exercise for patients with metastatic breast cancer. Building on this work, I am now part of the PREFERABLE II trial, focusing on further advancing exercise as an evidence-based component of supportive cancer care.
