ABOUT NADINE SMITH

Policy, purpose and communications and public engagement specialist with over two decades of experience from government, public and private sector supporting organisations in the UK and worldwide to achieve their goals. I am an influencer and networker, advocating for compassionate, inclusive and effective organisations that can meet today\'s demands and bring about public impact. I am also a founding director and now Fellow of the Centre for Public Impact (A BCG non-profit Foundation) influencing how governments and leaders see people, places and their potential to achieve better for people and I am a Fellow at EasierInc helping organisations rise to new challenges. As a pioneer of new methods to listen to those we seldom hear and too easily write off, to increase participation and shape opportunities for personal and economic growth, I am always on the look-out for ways to innovate in the engagement and collaboration space. I founded my own company, Nadine Smith Consulting, at the beginning of 2021 to help others achieve social change to bring about the culture change, apply systems thinking and inclusive communications required for more engaged, listened-to and empowered communities. Now as Director and Head of Government and Enterprise at Social Finance in the UK, I am helping to embed this new learning into government and communities, working with funders, and lead a strong team dedicated to better outcomes. I have an established career inside and outside of government. I was a Whitehall ministerial spokesperson, policy and communications and crisis management adviser to Number 10, DHSC, HMT and Cabinet Office. As an accomplished public speaker, facilitator and leader of worldwide work on government legitimacy and building trust with new communities (see my Tedx), you will find me out and about listening, learning and sharing new perspectives on better policy and government.
