   Reporting to the Chief Information Officer, I manage a staff of 7 and a multi-million-dollar budget for staffing, software licenses, equipment, and services. Together we design, develop, and maintain Springfield College various networks, systems, and infrastructure.As the inaugural security officer, I provide leadership and strategic direction in all aspects of IT security, network systems, and infrastructure for over 50 campus buildings and communications with two remote campuses. I am also part of Educause Higher Education Information Security Council (HEISC) Advisory Committee.· Developed and implemented the first Springfield College information security risk assessment, emphasizing NIST cybersecurity frameworks, standards, and the first complete Springfield College security incident response system to provide consistent policies regarding IT security roles and responsibilities.· Developed Springfield College\'s first administrative procedures and policies for an IT Security Program, including providing guidelines and standards and prescribing roles, responsibilities, and conditions that promote security throughout the campus\' various IT systems life cycles.· Increased information security practices to better protect data across the College, including intellectual property and personally identifiable information (PII).· Increased the technology effectiveness of the College through infrastructure upgrades that include the introduction of new Juniper switches, routers, Mist wireless, a new storage system, and hyper-converged computing.· Co-developed with the previous CIO, initiated a ten-year infrastructure upgrade plan to replace aging network and security equipment before end-of-life (EOL), and instituted a life cycle management program.· Oversaw project to successfully migrate the College\'s thirty-year-old PBX phone system to new Avaya VoIP to improve performance, reliability, and security.
