ABOUT NADIA QURESHI

I am a scholar-practitioner working in the field of education. My research and teaching examine how race, identity, and systemic inequities shape participation and belonging in education. My doctoral research at OISE investigates the experiences of Black students pursuing STEM pathways, using Critical Race Theory and anti-colonial frameworks to dismantle barriers in science education. Across my research, teaching, and service, I work to challenge dominant narratives in education and connect global issues such as sustainability, climate change, and technology to questions of equity and access. As an Ontario Certified Teacher (OCT) educator with over 17 years of teaching experience across K–12 and postsecondary contexts in Canada and internationally, I prepare future teachers to enact culturally responsive and community-centered approaches to teaching. My work has been recognized by and presented internationally at AERA, NARST, and ESERA. I have disseminated my work through peer-reviewed publications, edited volumes, and international research collaborations.
