Career Profile: I am an exceedingly skilled and experienced Organic Chemist with in-depth subject knowledge, leading a team of experienced chemists dedicated to Process Development, Synthesis of Agro & Pharma Intermediates and Novel Route Scouting for target molecules. I possess more than 20 years (including PhD, postdoc & industry) of research experience in Synthetic Organic Chemistry, Process Development, Medicinal Chemistry as well as natural products isolation & characterization using modern scientific tools and techniques. Current Job Profile: DGM-R&D at Navin Fluorine International Limited, Surat, Gujarat. The key responsibilities include Planning, execution, resources allocation for new projects. Define R&D programs and set priorities according to organizations strategic goals. Monitoring development activity with respect to cost, resource deployment, time over-runs and quality compliance. Involved in pilot plant trials and production. Lead, train and motivate team members. Co-ordinate with various departments including Production, QA-QC, Purchase, etc. Involved in internal audits and ensure safety and smooth operation in R&D. Core Competence: Synthesis, development and scale up of API & Agro intermediates and final compounds. All aspects of Process Development (Safety, Pollution and regulatory) Good experience in Fluorine chemistry (Fluorination by Halex and using AHF). Sound knowledge on Micro reactors and Flow Chemistry. All aspects of Medicinal & synthetic chemistry. Rational & structure-based drug design. Knowledge of entire operational cycle in a pharmaceutical Industry. Perform multi-task concomitantly. Deliver result in a fast paced time bound environment. Effective communication skills, team building, leadership and interpersonal skills. Process and Product Development from gram scale to Production level. Optimization of critical reaction condition. Extensive experience in Library and Building Block Synthesis. Research Highlights: Developed industrially viable cost effective process for Agro & Pharma intermediates. Successfully delivered a Phase-II clinical candidate in the therapeutic area of diabetes. Successfully delivered follow-on molecule - P9915 of the clinical candidate P1736. Published 19 international peer reviewed manuscripts and 6 patents.
