As a key member of the Public Sector team at Bishop Fleming, I play an important role in leading audit teams with the delivery of high quality and efficient NHS and Local Authority external audit and Value for Money work.I have been able to support the Public Sector management team with the implementation of our audit approach across our Local Authority audits, using my knowledge and experience to design audit approaches for Public Sector-specific areas of focus including Council Collection Fund accounts and Housing Benefit testing. I am able to draw on my previous Public Sector audit experience to provide relatable examples to clients and audit team members who are working through complex audit issues and account areas. I am responsible for the delivery of a portfolio of Value for Money work and reporting across a significant number of LG and NHS clients, using my knowledge of governance structures from external audit work to support teams to assess the arrangements which our audited bodies have in place.

ABOUT BROWN
I am an experienced External Audit professional, specialising in the delivery of Public Sector audits to a range of NHS and Local Government clients in England. I lead teams to deliver efficient and effective external audit to our clients, ensuring that we provide excellent client service and build positive relationships. I am a chartered accountant, having achieved both the ACA and MAAT designations throughout my career to date. Outside of my day job, as a Director of the Newport County AFC Supporters’ Trust I am passionate about football fan engagement in democratically structured supporter groups. I actively promote the influence of supporters in the day to day running of clubs, working with the Football Supporters’ Association on the implementation of strategies to develop engagement with younger supporters at a national level across the football pyramid.
