ABOUT SHABAZZ
N.M. Shabazz is an educator, historian, and playwright. An author of 12 published books, which includes a Black History for Beginners and an Urban Tales for Beginners series, Shabazz has a strong sense of community engagement and dedication to urban youth. His master’s thesis, The Need and Justification for all-Black Male Academies in Urban Areas, examined the adversities and academic disparities of African American male students. Having spent much of his career in corporate America in managerial roles, Shabazz is familiar with leading a diverse workforce, P&L’s, and getting the job done. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from the University of Arkansas Pine Bluff and a Master of Education degree in Urban Education from Langston University. Shabazz is completed his doctoral degree in the Educational Leadership from St. Louis University.
