Assigned to the Operations and Sustainment Directorate (J-31), Logistics Operations and Readiness (J-3), Headquarters Defense Logistics Agency (DLA), Fort Belvoir, Virginia. Assume full managerial and supervisory responsibility for the Readiness Team in the Joint Logistics Operations Center when delegated to do so. Provide contingency based current operation DLA support of execution oversight and planning estimates for anticipated contingencies of the future. Assigned Functional Program Manager and later appointed Program Manager, provide guidance and management in regard to the development and maintenance of the Integrated Consumable Item Support (ICIS) Model in support of DoD Operations and Contingency Plans (OPLAN/CONPLAN) supporting the logistics strategy for the internal agency supply chain planning and external DoD warfighter planning. Frequent coordination and discussions are made via briefings, written correspondence, telephone and personal meetings with Staff Directors, Executive Directors, and Corporate Staff and upper management and staffs of the PFLAs in reference to the decisions made to advance the overall programs development and success. This coordination is designed to impact the logistics strategy through support of the internal agency supply chain planning and external DoD warfighter planning efforts and substantially affecting the quality and efficiency of services provided to the warfighter. Perform reviews and or develop long-range program plans, goals, business case analysis, business process anlaysis, objectives, and milestones, to evaluate the effectiveness of the program. The work involves identifying and developing ways to resolve problems or cope with issues which directly affect the accomplishment of principal program goals and objectives. If needed develop new ways to resolve major problems or plan the most significant management aspects of this and other professional programs.
