About Myriam Dormer

For the past twenty years, Myriam Dondzina has led and engaged in efforts to cultivate and steward natural and working landscapes, local institutions, infrastructure, and cultural resources. She is a leader, analyst and strategist who has developed programs and relationships with communities in the United States and Brazil in service of sustainable, community-driven development and urban conservation. She collaborates with a diverse network of organizers and leaders to develop strategies that are locally impactful, while also developing regional partnerships aimed at influencing regional policy decisions.

   The Deputy Cities Network Director plays an important leadership role with respect to the Conservancy’s work in US cities. This includes supporting the Director in ensuring alignment with the Conservancy’s mission and conservation agenda, fostering and advancing an intersectional approach, operationalizing and promoting the values of equity and justice in conservation work, and helping to shape the role of the Cities Network and its value add within the greater organization moving forward. The Deputy Cities Network Director plays an important and influential role as TNC strives to ensure that it centers the voice and vision of frontline communities in conservation strategies, program planning, as well as sustaining and deepening relationships and pushing for more equitable conservation outcomes.The Deputy Cities Network Director helps manage the functionality of Cities Network Team who provides critical support infrastructure to the members of the Network including knowledge creation, capture and dissemination, convening learning cohorts and providing backbone support for collective impact efforts, communications and financial resources, programmatic guidance, thought partnership, administering grant programs for strengthening collaborative partnerships with community-based organizations, and developing innovative methods to transform how impactful, community-driven conservation is practiced in cities, with an eye toward broader impact.
