As Director of Government Affairs for PBA, I lead national policy, legislative, and advocacy strategies supporting licensed beauty professionals and businesses across the U.S.• Develop and execute legislative campaigns at federal, state, and local levels• Championed and delivered the permanent inclusion of the 45(b) FICA Tip Tax Credit for the beauty industry after 15 years of advocacy, expanding a vital employer tax credit previously limited to restaurants to now include salons, spas, and barbershops, saving employers thousands and achieving tax fairness• Successfully passed proactive legislation advancing industry priorities• Oversee the Texture Education Collective (TEC) and the Nail Manufacturer Council on Safety (NMC)• Provide PAC (political action committee) management experience, including compliance, fundraising, and reporting from past campaign work• Deliver testimony before legislative bodies and speak at conferences, trainings, classes, media interviews, and campaign events• Plan and manage political and issue advocacy campaigns to support public policy goals• Build and manage coalitions with policymakers, regulatory agencies, and industry stakeholders• Ensure compliance on occupational licensing, wage, and labor policy affecting beauty professionals
