About Matty Yohannan
Matty most recently served as Chief of Staff to CEO Marc Ganzi at DigitalBridge (NYSE: DBRG), where he played a pivotal role in its corporate transformation from Colony Capital (NYSE: CLNY) – a publicly listed REIT – into a leading global alternative investment manager specializing in digital infrastructure. During his tenure, DigitalBridge grew assets under management (AUM) from ~$21B to over $100B. Matty was instrumental in advancing strategic initiatives, leading high-impact projects and launching new investment strategies, including DCAF (long/short equity) and DigitalBridge Ventures. Before DigitalBridge, he was a Managing Director and Head of Investments at ShareNett, a family-office investment platform founded by Jim Pallotta (Raptor Group) and other prominent family offices. Matty led the firm’s investment and origination efforts, developed its Co-Investment strategy, led its fundraising efforts and was a key member of both the Investment and Management Committees.Matty’s investment experience extends beyond traditional finance. After investing in fintech startup SoFi’s $77M Series B financing in 2012, he was recruited by founding CEO Mike Cagney to start the New York office and to help complete its inaugural $152M post-graduate student loan securitization – marking the first-ever public securitization by a peer-to-peer lender. Matty served as an Advisor to the CEO until 2016. With over two decades of public and private markets investing, Matty has developed a deep expertise in TMT. He was on the founding investment team and TMT Sector Head at Charter Bridge Capital, a sector-focused long/short equity fund that he helped scale to over $300 million in AUM in less than two years, and as Portfolio Manager at both Balyasny Asset Management and Visium Asset Management, following his early career in private equity at Robertson Stephens and the Structured Products Group at Bankers Trust Securities. He currently serves as a Strategic Advisor to several growth-stage companies, including Alpha Origin, Connectbase, Exer Labs, FilmHedge, Roasting Plant and Sitetracker. Matty holds an MBA and a Certificate in Public Management & Social Innovation from the Stanford Graduate School of Business. He graduated magna cum laude with a BS in Finance & Economics from the NYU Stern School of Business.Matty serves on the Board of the BUILD Institute in Detroit, the Executive Advisory Council of the New York Urban Debate League, the Host Committee for the inaugural Girls Who Invest Gala and as an Alumni Chapter Officer for the Stanford GSB in South Florida.
